A Muscle Car Research Exclusive!
Muscle Car Research is proud to offer this rebuild kit for the Kelsey-Hayes metering valves used by AMC, Chrysler, Ford, and GM during the 1970s and 1980s. Our kit contains a new reproduction of the "top hat" seal and the retaining ring used to keep the valve assembly together. The seal is molded from a 50 durometer ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber compound that is fully compatible with automobile brake fluid. The retaining ring is made from black-finished steel.
Note that the steel plug used on some metering valves includes an o-ring seal. Since not all do I've made that seal an optional item with this kit. Please select the "Yes" option for the "Add O-Ring Seal?" question if you need the o-ring.
The valves that can be rebuilt with this kit are typically made of either brass or cast iron. This is an example of a brass Mopar valve:
This is an example of the cast iron valves used by the different manufacturers.
The metering valve is the part with the protruding pin.
